Autism Testing
***It should be noted that autism testing is offered for all ages—toddler, child, adolescent, & adult. However, adolescent or adult testing would require either school/early intervention records or a reporter who can attest to the person’s skill development during the early developmental period in order to be completed.***
Our testing services consist of at least three separate appointments. Expect that each session could last up to 3 hours. The first appointment is considered an initial intake appointment. Your provider will conduct a clinical interview to obtain important background information, in addition to, completing informant/parent report-based assessments needed to identify the diagnosis.
The second appointment will involve the provider conducting a structured observation of your child. Parents will need to have camera mounted in a way so that the provider can see the child’s full body and has a view of the child engaging in the structured tasks. The provider will guide the parent on what activities to engage the child in and allow an opportunity for the provider to have a glimpse in how the child acts in his/her natural environment. An additional appointment may be needed if more testing measures need to be administered or if your child has a low tolerance for the structured activities required for the observation.
The final appointment will be done once the assessment report is completed and a diagnosis has been rendered. The provider will go over the feedback from the assessment and go through the entirety of the report. At this appointment, parents can ask any questions they may have about the report, diagnosis, or recommendations given by the provider. Following this appointment, a copy of the final evaluation will be shared with the family.
Additional Testing
Additional testing services (ex. ADHD testing) are available upon request as a stand alone service or as an add on service. This service would follow a similar format to autism testing (see above) with payment required before each session. An intake appointment (1 session) would be required prior to any testing appointment (1-2 sessions) followed by a feedback session (1 session). Additional sessions may be added as needed depending on the complexity of the case. This type of testing will be charged at the standard hourly rate.
An in-person option is available for all testing services for an increased rate. Please contact us for more information.

Consultation
Short-term, problem focused consultation sessions are available for parents needing guidance on navigating next steps such as how to teach their children vital skills such as communication, social, or coping skills or on how to decrease challenging behaviors. These consultation services will typically consist of 6-12 sessions of parent training on individualized topics identified by the parents. These services are offered as a way for parents to learn more about applied behavior analysis (ABA) techniques that can be used with their child. Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is the most empirically supported treatment for autism. These services are often recommended by the provider following receiving an autism diagnosis. Many local intensive ABA programs in the community have long waiting lists. Therefore, consultation services can be beneficial to parents wanting to get an immediate start with learning about ABA so they can begin utilizing interventions with their child. In addition, consultation services can also be utilized to guide parent through the process of the next steps of getting qualified for state benefits, referrals for ABA/Allied health services, and guidance on school process to qualify for special education services.
In addition, AATC offers school or agency case consultation services.
